Honey Grove Dental Brand Identity
This project involved the design of a logo, stationery set, and product mock-ups for a fictional dental brand as part of a Graphic Design I course at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) from September to October 2023. The logo was developed with a focus on a clean, minimalist, and cheerful aesthetic. The design process utilized Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create visually appealing stationery and mock-ups that effectively represent the brand's identity.

01
Sketches
The start of my design process always begins with brainstorming multiple sketches.
I was assigned a dentist for my brand and here I created 16 thumbnails for this project, including coming up with company names, possible themes, and a target audience.

02
Tight
Compositions
Tight compositions were made as choices were narrowed down. This showed a clearer direction in design for the four chosen here.

03
Digital
Compositions
Carrying the same choices to this next step, digital compositions were made to further refine the designs including fonts and color palettes. The combination logo (as shown in the top right in the previous step) was scrapped and a bee design was created during this process.

04
Digital
Compositions -
Refined
The same digital compositions were again, further refined and narrowed down to the top three. The bee design incorporates a tooth within the wings, while the ‘Forest Grove Dental’ concept forms a tooth with the negative space between the deer’s curved legs. In the script version, the word ‘DENTAL’ is intentionally placed to resemble braces. Fonts and color palettes were then finalized.

05
Final Logo
My aim was to develop a calm and comforting logo that reflects the warm, family-friendly atmosphere of this dental practice. In the end, the bee design was chosen to represent the brand’s gentle personality.
Strokes were tapered for a dynamic feel on the wings, while the office name wraps around the logo in a circular layout, using the bee’s body to close the shape.
A vertical version of the logo was also created for the final.
06
Business Card
Drafts
After the finalized logo, the start of the stationery suite began with business card compositions.

07
Letterheads
The suite continued
with compositions and designs
for the letterhead and envelope.

Final Look
Two versions of the stationery was created for the final. One set showcases the bumblebee logo dominating the background for a bold presentation...

...…while the other set presents the logo playfully buzzing throughout the suite, echoing the movement of a busy bee.

Mock-ups
Final mock-ups were developed to show the design in context to complete the project.
